Introduction to Christian Doctrine provides a foundational study of the core beliefs of the Christian faith as revealed in Scripture. Students will explore essential biblical doctrines, including the nature and character of God, the Trinity, the person and work of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, creation, humanity, sin, salvation, the Church, and the hope of Christ's return. Throughout the course, students will examine how these foundational truths shape the Christian worldview and influence daily living, worship, and discipleship.
Using a Bible-centered approach, students will engage with Scripture to understand why Christians believe what they believe and how doctrine provides a framework for interpreting God's Word. Emphasis is placed on developing a strong biblical foundation, strengthening personal faith, and applying theological principles to real-life situations with wisdom, humility, and compassion.
Through recorded lectures, assigned readings, reflection activities, quizzes, and practical applications, students will build confidence in discussing and defending foundational Christian beliefs while growing in their understanding of God's redemptive plan throughout Scripture.
This asynchronous, self-paced course is appropriate for students seeking a biblical foundation for personal spiritual growth, ministry preparation, Christian leadership, or a deeper understanding of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith.
